SEA CON® developed its first 'dry-mate' connector in 1994, which was based on the Metal Shell Series connector range. Since then there has been a dramatic increase in the quantity and complexity of fiber optic connector configurations required.

In order to meet these requirements, SEA CON® has developed a huge range of fiber optic products, which are designed and manufactured to meet the specific, but varied environmental conditions imposed on connectors today. The need to create products with the ability to withstand these conditions has resulted in SEA CON® gaining a considerable amount of experience in optical dry-mate, wet-mate and underwater-mate connector products, optical penetrators and optical fiber management systems.

The standard dry-mate optical products are based around three of the SEA CON® connector ranges: the Metal Shell Series (MSS), the MINI-CON Series (a smaller version of the MSS) and the recently released OPTI-CON series.

SEA CON®'s optical connector configurations are designed to suit multi-mode, single-mode, dispersion shift and other fiber types, differing claddings, coatings and outer sheaths, body materials and terminations of choice (up to 20,000psi).

SEACON (europe) Limited (SCE) produce a wide range of bespoke customer specific dry-mate optics together with the new dry-mate 'Opti-Con' connector range. With the backing of our design and engineering departments, SCE have the ability to produce and manufacture any type of electrical or optical connector.

4 Channel Dry Mate Fiber Optic Connector

SCE have been developing a number of fiber optic connector designs in response to the industry's need for small, light weight, reliable and user friendly underwater fiber optic connectors.

The 4 Channel Dry Mate Fiber Optic Connector was originally developed using materials and a design specific for the harsh conditions of the downhole environment. Our product design uses single-mode or multimode fibers in a multi-channel application as well as electro-optical hybrid designs, which can be adapted to withstand hydrostatic pressures in an open face condition. The connector is available in different materials and terminations to suit the individual requirements of each customer.
